Our team consists of nearly 70 professionals, engaged in roles ranging from teaching and field work to research and advocacy. We are based in three locations: Bangalore; Udupi district, particularly Kundapur Taluk; and across Bellary district.

Following are the profiles which are currently open:

1. Junior Advocacy Officer

We are looking for applicants for the role of a Junior Advocacy Officer, who has prior experience in the field of rights based work, education and governance to join our team.

The role involves working with the field teams, and management team to prioritize areas for research and advocacy; designing and developing studies, and its co-ordination and dissemination. The main areas of work include child rights, child labour, children’s participation, democratic decentralization and rights of migrant communities. The ideal candidate will have experience in facilitation skills and be able to facilitate research and advocacy by children on issues impacting their lives as identified by them.

The project management aspects of the role include organizational reporting, donor relation and networking. The advocacy officer will also contribute to communication related work like maintaining and running the social media platforms, website etc.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have/ be- a graduate or preferably post graduate degree in social sciences/development studies/education or related fields; experience in the field of children’s rights and governance; skills related to research and advocacy (preferable); excellent communication and analytical skills; good social media skills; passionate about engaging with marginalized communities ; excellent oral and written skill in English and a knowledge of Kannada is highly preferable; high levels of persistence and resourcefulness and the ability to work independently and take initiatives.
The job will be based in Bangalore with frequent work related travel to our programmes in the rural areas and other places as required.
