Seminar on Karnataka Panchayat Raj Act Amendment Committee Report on 12 Nov 2014

Institute of Social Science (ISS) New Delhi in association with Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Government of Karnataka is organizing a seminar on the ‘Karnataka Panchayat Raj Act Amendment Committee Report’ on the recommendation of the Amendment Committee on November 12, 2014 at the Conference Hall in Vidhana Soudha, Bengaluru. Nandana Reddy, Convener of the Karnataka Grama Panchayat Hakkothaya Andolana also Director – Development of The Concerned for Working Children, will be taking the audience through the highlights of the Report of Karnataka Panchayat Raj Act Amendment Committee.

Honorable Chief Minister will inaugurate the seminar Sri H K Patil, Honorable Minister, Rural Development & Panchayat Raj will chair the inaugural session.

The committee submitted the report to the Honorable Chief Minister and Minister, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj on November 6, 2014. Former Union Minister for Panchayat Raj Sri Mani Shankar Iyer was also present on the occasion.

The Committee makes detailed and path breaking recommendations in this Report in order to re-instate the spirit of Swaraj and the 73rd Amendment within the framework of the Constitution. Read more.
